As part of M-real, Espoo/Finland, M-real Zanders GmbH is market leader in Europe for coated and uncoated fine paper. The company is well known for its high-quality 2-sided coated fine paper ikono und Zanders Mega
The task
The design and layout of the internet presence had to be adapted to the corporate design of the paper manufacturer. The paper research via the internet should be made as easy as possible for Zanders’ customers.
The implementation
A detailed display of the products is the heart of the website. All user groups, from the graphic designer via the printer up to anybody, who is not familiar with the trade, can call the required information about available products in a fast and targeted manner. Having received the search result, each paper can be viewed in detail and ordered by mouse click.
The details
The website was newly designed, visually and structurally. The technological basis is a database supported Java2-System. Using a MVC framework with an optimal Template-Engine (webmacro) allows the separation between application logics (Java) and presentation level (HTML).
The complete website was implemented in CMS of Messrs. RedDot Solutions AG. The bilingual website (German/English) is maintained via a dedicated RedDot server. Employees of M-real Zanders GmbH were thereby enabled to process and generate the website independently. An interposed staging server allows the acceptance of changes before these are provided live. Dynamically generated contents and static marketing contents are combined on the server in an integrated manner.
The functionalities
Paper search:
With only a few clicks, suitable paper can be found via various search mechanisms, whereby a search via product groups, application areas or keywords is possible. All information required for the search is imported into the database, so that product characteristics and availabilities can be entered directly into the Zanders information system in Bergisch-Gladbach.
Online order:
Marketing brochures, posters or paper samples can be ordered directly via the website. Any e-mails, which are generated from the order system, are sent to a central address of the Customer Services.
Full text search:
A keyword oriented full text search enables the search of all contents included on the website und provides a direct link o the result page.
Trader and branch search:
Country and product dependent search mechanism. All data is externally maintained and is taken over into the database via an import.
