The client
M-real Digital imaging is one of Europe's most innovative producers of Digital papers. With its special paper range, silverpapers provides M-real Digital imaging designs and paper qualities for all digital applications ranging from digital colour printers via desktop printers up to large format inkjet printers.
The task
The new information and communication platform should meet the requirements of both the customers and the wholesalers. Special emphasis was also placed on relaunching the brand "silver" as well as introducing new mechanisms for product research and categorisation.
The implementation
Marketing and product information are the most important components of a website. Through a simple navigation structure, the visitor can view a complete list of paper types, click on ICC profiles, script files, and downloads for printers, download test images, as well as start an offer enquiry. The shopping basket function and the construction of an internal shop system enable business partners and end customers to place an online sample order.
The details
The website was newly designed, visually and structurally. The technological basis is a database supported Java2-System. Using a MVC-2 framework, accelerated the development of the required functionalities. The bilingual website (German/English) is maintained via a separate RedDot server. Employees of M-real Digital imaging were thereby enabled to process and generate the website independently. An interposed staging server allows the acceptance of changes before these are provided live. Dynamically generated contents and static marketing contents are combined on the server in an integrated manner.
The functionalities
ICC-Profile:
A database supported configuration system for the trouble-free search of suitable printer profiles.
Full text search:
A keyword oriented full text search enables the search of all contents included on the website und provides a direct link o the result page.
PaperCalc:
With one click, suitable papers can be found for the most frequent applications and most used printers.
Forum:
Java2-based forum system with adapted website optic. The familiar website optic guarantees easy handling.
Trader and branch search:
Country and product dependent search mechanism. All data is externally maintained and is taken over into the database via an import.
