The Deichmann Group is Europe’s most important leader in the shoe market with over 2,300 branches and about 26,000 employees in 17 countries.
The task
The advancing adaptation of the brand Deichmann towards the digital brand formed the basis for the task of relaunching the corporate website. Thereby, apart from the essential information about the group, the relevance to current fashion and the good price/performance ratio of shoe fashion had to be given special emphasis. The full-service spectrum for the client includes consultation, content and design related conceptions, actualisations, and technical support.
The implementation
communicode is responsible for the strategic consultation, for the visual and technical conception as well as for the implementation of the online presence. Furthermore, communicode also took over the media planning and the realisation of online marketing measures. The central element of the marketing site provides information about the group and its shoe collection. Apart from that, regular TV spots, adverts, and brochures are made available.
Using the branch finder, the nearest DEICHMANN shops for Germany and Austria can be traced by entering the postal code. Apart from that, there are links to “Microsites”: In addition, Europe’s largest shoe retailer will present its children's shoe brands at one glance under www.deichmann-kinderwelt.de. Interested parents will be able to inform themselves by mouse click about all important details and characteristics of the relevant shoe brands linking them directly to the Deichmann Online-Shop if required. The section “Fun for kids” provides young visitors with online games, which are appropriate for their age or with the latest handicraft tips and delicious ideas for recipes.
The DEICHMANN sports shoe brand "Victory" provides valuable information about the brand and in addition to competitions with prizes and also an event information section giving running event dates for their keen athletic customers. Topical news und events for clients and the specialist press complete the range.
The details
communicode develops internet solutions consistently using the latest display standards such as XHTML, CSS or Flash. These provide faster page display, future proofing, expandability, easier maintenance, and higher compatibility with future browser generations and media. The clear separation of content and display forms the basis for barrier-free offers.
RedDot was used as Content Management System for maintaining and updating the marketing-site.
The technological basis for the Deichmann shops is the Intershop system. Enfinity works with the latest technologies such as XML, JAVA, EJB and WAP and is particularly well suited for the quick development of complex eBusiness solutions including the necessary integration in existing IT systems.
