Tupperware
Inspiring household products on the net
The Client
Tupperware is one of the largest international companies in the sector of household products. Since 1962, Tupperware products have also been available in Germany. As one of the first users of Polyethylene, the chemist Earl S. Tupper founded the company, which is still going strong, back in the forties. The company gained particular fame due to its unique distribution system - the sale of its products via so-called “Tupperware parties”.
The Task
communicode was given the task of translating the Company’s global Corporate Design for the internet. Apart from acting as a consultant for the client, communicode was also responsible for the complete implementation of the technology. The new web project will replace the current website. In addition, a full text search has been implemented in a second step, providing the user with the possibility of finding practical recipes and to locate an advisor by using only a few clicks. As a result of introducing its new website, Tupperware offers its clients a genuine additional value, which also promotes their clients’ loyalty to the company.
The Implementation
The new design of the website created a homogenous and modern internet presence, which combines state-of-the art standards with a functional layout. Apart from the presentation of the household products, the user friendly search function, which also makes the search for a Tupperware advisor close to their clients’ home incredibly easy, represents another highlight of the website.
The Details
The website was realized by the Open Text Web Solution Management Server System (formerly RedDot CMS) and the Open Text Web Solution Delivery Server 9.0 (formerly RedDot LiveServer), which enables editorial members of staff to maintain the website even without having any programming skills. The placing of the contents on the internet is guaranteed on the basis of the system. The full text search Verity Search Engine was implemented in addition to the structure and the implementation of the html templates in the Open Text System. As a result, an interactive component has been added to the website: visitors of the website are invited to participate in the so-called “cookery book” by adding their own recipes. ´
