Internet customer support – communicode develops personalized customer portal for Schroff

Customer support on the Internet gains rapid importance for Schroff GmbH.  A new online customer portal, which enables customers to filter and display information in accordance with their requirements, is currently being developed in cooperation with communicode.   A special challenge is above all the linkage to the existing ERP system, which enables the display of status requests and exact order tracking on the website. Apart from that, the portal provides extended shop functionalities such as real-time enquiry with regard to availabilities or the storage of shopping baskets. Another possibility is the entry and independent modification of personal data, which is then directly synchronized with the CRM system.

The implementation of the portal will be realized via several interfaces to the already existing CRM resp. ERP System JD Edwards by Schroff. The ERP system is securely accessed by the web component "InstantWeb" by asim^®, which transfers current stocks and order information to the customer portal and in doing so guarantees the up-to-dateness of information.  Using the so-called "Order Tracking", any registered and verified customer is now in the position to track and follow up his orders. The value added of the extended customer portal is particularly noticeable in the personalization of the data displayed: the customer does no longer see the display of all products, instead he is only provided with information, which is important to him. The emphasis of this information is thereby oriented towards certain market segments, which are highly relevant to the customer. By providing the option of registration and the display of preferred products, Schroff intends to improve customer satisfaction on a long-term basis.
The portal is already available in three languages: it includes the European markets Germany, France, Great Britain, Sweden, Finland and Italy. Further markets will follow.
