communicode realizes web project with SEMIKRON

To meet the requirements of various markets combined with a more targeted customer approach has become an increasingly important aspect in the sector of power semiconductor electronics. Hence, in November 2007, manufacturer SEMIKRON asked the Essen-based eBusiness provider to realize the efficient publication of an extensive range of product data. The company already used the Enterprise Content Management System RedDot, which significantly facilitated the maintenance of their website. To enable the company to also realize the uniform maintenance of the Intranet, SEMIKRON has now returned to the RedDot LiveServer. The task assigned to communicode was to couple the PIM system asim^® and the RedDot LiveServer in a way that made it possible to avoid the redundant maintenance of information. The Product Information Management System asim^® used by SEMIKRON is equipped with an asim^®/RedDot Bridge, which has been developed by communicode, on the basis of which all relevant product information of the company can now be published on the Intranet and Internet respectively.

By means of the so-called Iolet-API, the RedDot LiveServer provides an interface, which can be used to integrate the asim^® InstantWeb component (electronic catalogue) directly into the RedDot LiveServer. An Iolet thereby represents an independent function module, which, for example can be implemented into the respective RedDot site by means of dynaments. Based on this technology, it becomes possible to access all existing product information and documents from the asim^® system via the RedDot LiveServer, without having to collect information from two different systems. Developing the overall structure and the continuous maintenance of the website can therefore be carried out effortlessly by the SEMIKRON staff.
