communicode: Dutch Deichmann subsidiary vanHaren in new look

During the course of restructuring the website of the Deichmann Group, its Dutch subsidiary vanHaren has been given a new electronic look. The increasing internationalisation involves the creation of websites, which convey a consistent corporate image. communicode has realized the website for the shoe retailer and developed the underlying templates in accordance with the client’s specification.

The project was realized on the basis of RedDot CMS 7.5 (now Open Text Management Server).  The objective of the project was the use of a uniform template basis, which as of now on will be available for a total of 17 country sites including Deichmann’s main marketing site. In spite of different colours associated with both companies, only one common corporate design will be used, which reflects a consistent image of the group of companies.

Apart from adopting the uniform corporate design, a product catalogue, which is maintained via the existing ERP system, has also been integrated. Product information is now transferred to the website via a XML interface. This, for example, provides the respective user with the opportunity of filtering products via the brand name, enabling him to find shoes that are relevant to his search. Using the so-called branch finder, products can furthermore be filtered in accordance with shoe size and post code; afterwards, the user will be shown which branch stocks the required article.
