communicode at the 20th RedDot Usergroup Conference: The Pillars of a Company

communicode is looking back on an eventful 20th RedDot Usergroup Conference: a particular highlight was an expert lecture from our own ranks: the Head of the CMS Division, ecommerce  und project manager Thomas Kopatz presented a practice-relevant introduction on the subject of “Product Information Management in corporate everyday life”. That fact that PIM systems nowadays are firmly established in both medium-sized and large companies is no longer a novelty. Meanwhile, Product Information Management - in addition to ERP, CRM and ECM systems - is one of the four supporting pillars of a company.

“Anybody, who has already used a PIM system in his company, knows of the great saving potential it provides”, says Kopatz. Following a detailed analysis of client-related project requirements, Kopatz showed explicit surplus values and impressively argued the saving of both time and costs by using a PIM system. During the last part of his lecture, the qualified project manager emphasized the integration options and synergy effects of Content Management and PIM systems using the example of three possible integration options. After the lecture all participants were given the opportunity to discuss the issues introduced, whilst enjoying cold drinks and delicious food.
