Karstadt Immobilien puts their trust on OpenCms – communicode realises web presence for "LuisenForum" project

With respect to Content Management systems, Karstadt Immobilien AG & Co. KG, wholly-owned subsidiary of KarstadtQuelle AG, put their trust in the long-term experience of communicode. Concerning their "LuisenForum" project, Karstadt Immobilien contracted the Essen-based solution provider to create a special website: in future, visitors of www.luisenforum.de will be made aware of the new shopping and service centre, which is currently being built in the heart of Wiesbaden's city centre.

The concept, which was supplied by Karstadt Immobilien as well as the provision of a HTML version served as the starting basis for the realisation of their website. In order to enable the cost efficient maintenance of the new Internet presence, communicode implemented the site using the Open Source Content Management system OpenCms. This solution enables even editors without HTML experience to maintain the contents of an Internet presence in a simple and flexible manner.

OpenCms is a J2EE-based Enterprise solution which guarantees the functional upgrade of a website at any time. The system can be integrated in almost all server landscapes and supports almost all current databases. Existing systems are not simply replaced but sensibly upgraded. In addition, the tools for project administration make it possible to provide various users with different user profiles and rights. As an Open Source solution, OpenCms does not incur any licence costs.
